Summary of Project

When these homeowners asked us to come up with ideas to modernize an outdated 80’s ranch style home, along with adding a new master suite, we began by presenting realistic 3D computer aided renderings of our design. This provided the clients with an understanding of how the project might look before we began.

One of our ideas was to make the residence seem brighter and more open. We achieved this by raising the existing ceiling and installing skylights. We also suggested a more open floor plan to replace the chopped-up 80’s look, which enhances the home by improving the flow. We installed dark floors and warm woods to contrast nicely with the white glazed cabinets surrounding the perimeter of the kitchen and chose white subway tiles for the backsplash. For the countertops we installed two different gray stones (one for the island and one for the rest of the room) that blend well with the stainless appliances. The large open kitchen, adjoined by the great room, now became the home’s “heartbeat” where friends and family can gather in relaxing surroundings.

The exterior got a facelift by installing new European-style shutters, adding an impressive glass and wrought iron double door to the front entry, and replacing the boring garage doors with dark wooden designer ones.

The homeowners’ dream of an open, expansive and bright family home has now been realized.
